Hope and Healing Campaign

Donate to NAMI Texas to help us achieve our goal of raising $10,000 between November 29 (#GivingTuesday) and December 31, 2022!

In 2022 we have seen an attempted return to normalcy post-pandemic, but according to the World Health Organization, “the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, global prevalence of anxiety and depression increased by a massive 25%.” It’s likely we won’t know the full impact of COVID-19 on mental health for years to come. NAMI Texas has been here through it all continuing our mission to improve the quality of life for all individuals living with mental illness and their families.

NAMI Texas is the leading statewide peer and family-based advocate and resource for Texans affected by mental illness. This year alone, we have:

  • Facilitated the delivery of mental health support groups to more than 2,500 people.
  • Developed a robust list of priorities for the upcoming legislative session and worked with legislative offices on the pre-filing of HB 726, HB 727, and HB 470.
  • Welcomed two new NAMI Affiliates: NAMI San Angelo TX and NAMI Greater Athens TX.
  • Hosted “Community of Hope and Healing”, our first in-person Conference since 2019
  • Trained 185 individuals on how to deliver specific NAMI programs in their communities

“When my child was diagnosed with mental illness, I was not sure where to turn. NAMI Family Support Group helped me to understand and accept the diagnosis, as well as provided group wisdom from those who had been in my shoes before. And most importantly, it helped me not to lose hope during difficult times.” – Brad Hunt, NAMI Texas Board Member

None of this impact would have been possible without the generous support of our donors. Donations to NAMI Texas directly support our robust array of mental health education, support, and advocacy initiatives.

With gratitude,
